Through the South Pacific Employment Institute (SPEI) facility, Site Skills Training delivers international best practice training and assessment services in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, catering to the country’s rapidly growing regional resources and energy sector.

The 2,500sqm facility boasts extensive capabilities to provide trainees skills development in the upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas sector. This includes an Immersive Safe Live Process Plant Environment where trainees can gain realistic, hands-on training on Process Plant Operation and Maintenance.

Our Training Programs

The facility is currently equipped with classrooms and dedicated training areas for the following trades, HSE and high risk courses:

  • Fabrication
  • Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas (EEHA)
  • Entry in Confined Spaces

  • Working at Heights
  • Flange Integrity
  • Scaffolding

 

We also deliver tailored and on-site training. We have a pool of industry experts we can deploy anywhere in Papua New Guinea.

Accommodation and Amenities

Our Papua New Guinea training facility can provide accommodation and amenities for approximately 130 personnel and trainees. We have six two-storey accommodation blocks that feature secured and fully furnished rooms. Amenities include cable TV, free internet access and full laundry valet service.

We also have a kitchen and mess hall that caters three meals a day. Trainees can request special catering for certain dietary requirements and restrictions. For those who observe the Sharia Law, we have a dedicated kitchen and staff licenced to prepare Halal food.

Trainees will also have access to recreational facilities including a fitness centre, a billiards hall and a computer laboratory with internet connection.

The facility is located five minutes outside the Central Business District (CBD) of Port Moresby, Site Skills Training offers free shuttle services to and from the campus.
