Project Details

Granite Services International has earmarked Site’s Philippine facility as the venue of its workforce development program for its regional employees in Asia. Over 200 candidates were deployed from Malaysia, South Korea, China, India, and other parts of the Philippines to Clark for the power generation training.

The training covers induction of new entrants and upskilling of experienced personnel in mechanical work, safe handling, use and operation of power tools, flange integrity, gaskets, bolted connections, welding, examination and reparation works.

Challenge
Granite Services International aims to strengthen its commitment to its regional workforce in Asia through skills and competency development. For easier deployment, and to minimise operational downtime, Granite is seeking a facility in Asia where they can conduct comprehensive training for their power generation and oil & gas maintenance personnel.
Solution
With a 300,000sqm facility fully dedicated to delivering training in various industries, including oil & gas and power generation, the Site Skills Training Clark Freeport Zone facility offered assistance to Granite Services International to deliver tailored training programs to their workforce.
Over 200 tonnes of decommissioned industrial rotating equipment and training simulators were shipped to Site's flagship facility to support the immersive training.
Site is well underway in building a 1,650sqm training facility that will house the training equipment. The facility will include two classrooms and a state-of-the-art laboratory that can accommodate 100 individuals at any one time.
Outcome
Approximately 200 candidates from Malaysia, South Korea, China, India and other parts of the Philippines commenced training in Site Skills Training Clark campus in the span of 1 year.
Training covers theoretical knowledge and technical skills for mechanical work, safe handling, use and operation of power tools, flange integrity, gaskets, bolted connections, welding, examination and reparation works.
