Overview |
This course provides candidates the necessary skills and knowledge to operate and maintain breathing apparatus and equipment in an irrespirable atmosphere, such as in a confined space with hazardous gases or vapours, in an oxygen deficient atmosphere, and in other situations requiring the wearing of breathing apparatus. Training covers conducting pre-donning checks and tests on breathing apparatus, operating breathing apparatus, and concluding operations in accordance with procedures. |
Who Will Benefit | This course is suitable for personnel who are required to undertake work in confined spaces with hazardous gases or vapours, in an anoxic atmosphere, and in other situations requiring the wearing of breathing apparatus. |
Prerequisites |
There is no prerequisite unit to this course, however it is recommended that candidates undergo standard medical examination prior to training. |

Training Method | Training is a combination of theory familiarisation and practical applications. |
Course Delivery | Training and assessment to operate a breathing apparatus is offered at our Clark campus in the Philippines. We also deliver training on site upon arrangement or provided that there are suitable infrastructure and equipment. |
Completion Award |
Upon successful completion of this unit, a Statement of Attainment will be issued. |
